The Acts Journey – Chapter 5, September 8, 2019

As we have traveled on this road with the believers in the early church, we have seen promises fulfilled, a community growing out of a shared relationship with Jesus Christ, a powerful infilling of the Presence of the Holy Spirit, extraordinary miracles of healing, anointed sermons, persecution turned into triumph and a resolution deep in the hearts of the baby ekklesia to go forward in obedience and submission to continue walking in Jesus’commands. Today, in Acts 5, a troubling event will take place in the church. It is the deaths of husband and wife, Ananias & Saphira, who were church members and active in the kingdom community. Their death was shocking to all and it brought great and holy fear to the Jerusalem church.
